A busy summer 2024 for the McCaw Family at Jersey Street Outreach Hub, Belfast

Paul, Lorraine, Cameron and Caleb McCaw have enjoyed a busy summer at the Belfast City Mission’s Jersey Street Outreach Hub. Keen to share their experiences with The Church Page readers, the family write:
‘You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other. (John 15:16-17)
This verse was just sent to me this morning to remind us that it is God who has chosen us and wants us to help gather the fruit in, not only at this harvest season, but all through the year! To show God’s love in all that we do!

Our Open Day and Fun Weekend both went well! Thanks to our friends for their help and support!

We have begun our planned winter’s work at the Hub!

Hope Youth @ the Hub meets every other Sunday evening. We started ‘Hope Youth’ at Mayo Street but wanted to keep in touch with these young people, so we have brought them along with us! Well, only 3 came along, but pray more will return as we have fun and share God’s word together!

‘Jersey Juniors’ is our new Kids Club! We meet on a Wednesday evening and have 16 kids so far which is great! Lots of fun, games and sweets and always sharing God’s word. 8 kids took Bibles home this week as they said they did not have one in their home! Please pray they will be read and understood!

‘Tots @ the Hub’ is our new parent and toddler group! The hall was full on Tuesday morning with parents and babies! It was so lovely to see! 17 registered so far, and counting!

‘Monday Munch’ is a new venture which we tried on Monday for the seniors! Unfortunately no one turned up! This was a bit upsetting, but we will try one more week and if no one comes we will put it on hold for now! We are starting from nothing, so it will take time for people to hear about our work and see what we are about!

We are planning another ‘Messy Church’ for Harvest. It will be held on Sunday 13th October 2024 from 4.00pm-5.30pm. This is for all the family to come and enjoy!

As a family we have had lovely holidays in July and August, which were greatly appreciated. Caleb is now back to school and studying for his GCSE’s and Cameron has returned to University.

Thank you for your continued prayers & support in every way!
