Service of Ordination of new Priests held in Ballycastle – Connor Diocese

Two new priests were ordained for Connor Diocese at a service held in St James’ Parish Church, Ballycastle, on St Peter’s Day, Sunday June 29th, 2024.

The Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev George Davison, ordained the Rev Shona Bell for the Parish of Ramoan and Culfeightrin (Ballycastle) and the Rev Cameron Mac for Belfast Cathedral. The preacher at the service was the Ven Barry Forde, Archdeacon of Belfast.

Shona is originally from the north east of Scotland and moved to Northern Ireland in 1998 to work for the Corrymeela Community. She is married with one son and served as a deacon in Holy Trinity, Portrush.

Cameron met his wife Megan at the Church of Ireland chaplaincy at Queen’s University. He has worked as a carer, as a civil servant in Cardiff, and in HR administration, and spent his deacon year in St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast, where he will continue his ministry.
