McCaw family are busy at the Belfast City Mission Jersey Street Outreach Hub

Paul, Lorraine, Cameron and Caleb McCaw are set for a great summer at the Jersey Street Outreach Hub as they begin a new venture with the Belfast City Mission.

In their latest prayer letter, the family write:

The Lord is the only one that we should put our hope in! He will never leave us alone. He will never let us down. That is our prayer as we set out in our new adventure, with the Lord, “…put your hope in the Lord…” Psalm 131 v 3 – and we pray that the people of the Jersey Street area of Belfast will put their HOPE
in the Lord, not in what the world offers!

March, April and May were very busy months for us. We had moving house, along with all our end of year trips and events for everyone. We also had our 135th Anniversary Mission which was well attended and a real blessed time for us. On Sunday 26th May we had our final service in Mayo Street which was attended by our family and friends. It was a very special night and we feel very humbled and blessed to have been called to serve the Lord in this area of Belfast.

Now preparations are underway in our new area of service. God has called us to Jersey Street Hall which we are renaming as Jersey Street Outreach Hub! It is situated between the Crumlin Road and the Shankill Road among about 3000 houses! This is a big area and we would really value your prayers as we step out in faith, in a completely new way of serving in Belfast City Mission. As the world changes, we need to change the way we do things.

At the minute we are doing some work around the hall to make it more welcoming. Our first event will be on Monday 1st July 2024 when we are having an Open Day! This will be from 2.00pm–4.00pm, so please pray we will have all our planned work completed by then, and that the people of the area will come in!

We also have a weekend of fun planned for kids and their families at the end of July.
Saturday 28th July – Holiday Bible Club Fun Day (Team from Union Road Presbyterian Church)
Sunday 29th July – Messy Church (Team from Trinity Presbyterian Church)
Monday 30th July – Football Fun Day (Team from Ambassadors)

Please pray for us as we begin this new journey and meet new people. It is very daunting at the minute as we have so much to do, but we know this is God’s plan and He will provide. Maybe if you have some free time and can paint, you might be happy to help, please let us know asap???

As a family the last few months have also been busy for our boys too. Cameron has just finished 2nd Year at Stranmillis and Caleb has been doing Year 11 GCSE exams, so we are all really looking forward to our holidays in the middle of July!

Thank you all for your continued prayerful support as we serve the Lord! Thank you also to those who support us financially. God’s provision for us is amazing!
