A Coffee Morning will be held at West Presbyterian Church Ballymena in support of Castle Tower School PFSA Minibus Fundraiser on Saturday 17th February 2024 from 10am-1pm. This will take place in the Church Hall which is easily accessed from either the Ballymoney Road or Albert Place.
Explaining why this event is taking place, Rev Daniel Kane said: “We want to acknowledge the important contribution the Castle Tower school makes to the North Antrim community and shine a light on the massive under funding and resourcing of this vital service which supports some of the most vulnerable members of our society and their families. The recently constructed Castle Tower School is already too small to accommodate all the pupils enrolled in its classes. An extension campus on the site of what was formerly Ballee High School is currently being used to create more space making it necessary to have a mini bus to transport pupils between the two places. Funding shortages in education mean that there is no money in the public purse to pay for this. By having this coffee morning, we at West Church really want to show our support for the staff and pupils of the school in a tangible way. As Christians we believe that everyone in our society should be treated with fairness and compassion therefore we have a genuine responsibility in supporting our local special educational needs school in Ballymena. A minimum donation of £5 is requested.”
Everyone is welcome so bring your friends and help support this extremely worthwhile cause.
