Church of Ireland Podcasts Capture Coronation Reflections

As the Church of Ireland rounds off its coverage of the Coronation, two podcasts have been produced to share a sense of the day on which HM King Charles and HM Queen Camilla were crowned.

The Revd Adrian Dorrian, from the Lecale Area Mission Partnership, is a duty chaplain in Westminster Abbey – a role which gives him a close insight into the life of this historic church in the heart of London. In his interview, Adrian talks about the Abbey’s place in the city and national life and being in London for Coronation Day.

Also among the crowd was Canon Derek Kerr, the Rector of Drummaul, Duneane and Ballyscullion, in County Antrim.  Reflecting on this memorable moment, Derek recalls the sights and sounds of the occasion and how his collection of royal memorabilia began.  Both clergymen also speak about their impressions as a new reign begins.

Readers are welcome to listen back to both podcasts at www.soundcloud.com/churchofireland and also on our special Coronation news page: www.ireland.anglican.org/coronation

This page also features an interview with Archbishop John McDowell on his role in the Coronation Service, specially written prayers, our cathedral services in Northern Ireland to celebrate the Coronation, and Their Majesties’ recent visit to St Patrick’s Cathedral on the Hill of Armagh.
