Four Churches in Broughshane will be coming together for an Easter Teaching Week from Monday 3rd until Friday 7th April 2023. The meetings begin each evening at 8pm in Second Broughshane Presbyterian Church.
Former Moderator and Principal of Union Theological College, Very Rev Dr Stafford Carson will be taking the week of meetings. This is a joint event by the Broughshane Churches (First & Second Presbyterian, New Dawn & Saint Patricks Church of Ireland). Please plan to attend and invite others.
Explaining why the churches in Broughshane have decided to come together in this way, Rev Ronnie Agnew, who occupies the pulpit at First Broughshane told us:
“First and Second Broughshane and St Patrick’s have always enjoyed coming together for occasional events, eg the joint Carol Service at Christmas is always a particular highlight.
“As members of God’s family, we have enjoyed getting to know Pastor Mark Steele since his arrival at New Dawn Evangelical Fellowship and we wanted to hold this week of teaching to show that Christ’s church in Broughshane speaks with one voice to proclaim the message of Salvation through Jesus’ death on the cross which is remembered at Easter time.
“While it is lovely to celebrate Christmas together and it is right that we do so, the death and resurrection of Christ is at the centre of the Christian faith, and as such, it is as important to place our focus on this important time.”
Rev Agnew went on to say: “Stafford Carson is a gifted communicator of God’s Word in addition to being a man with a real pastoral heart for people. We know that God is going to use him to draw us closer to Himself this season.”
Everyone is welcome to be part of what is certain to be a very special week. For more information, log on to the event’s Facebook page.
