West Presbyterian Church in Ballymena will be the venue for a special service hosted by the Ukrainian Inter-church Group on Sunday 26th February 2023, starting at 6.30pm.
Rev Daniel Kane, Minister of West Presbyterian Church in Ballymena, looking forward to the service, said:
“It has been so good to see the wider Church continue to come together over the course of the last year to support our Ukrainian friends in this time of need. As this is the first Anniversary of the War in Ukraine, we want to provide an opportunity to stand with the people of Ukraine in prayer and solidarity as the local Church here in this part of Northern Ireland.
“To that end, there will be an inter-church service on Sunday 26th February at 6:30pm in West Church Ballymena. The purpose of the service is as follows – to give Ukrainian believers the opportunity to share their faith with other Ukrainians who have arrived here.”
Rev. Kane went on to explain that service will largely be conducted in Ukrainian with English translation and will be run by Ukrainian believers.
He added: “We also want to stand with Ukrainians and pray for them and the situation in their homeland. There will be an opportunity for leaders and representatives of various churches to stand alongside and pray for our Ukrainian friends; to worship God together with them and to intercede on their behalf.”
Tea/coffee will be served after the service. Everyone will be made very welcome.
