Lighthouse charity seeks volunteers for ‘marathon’ challenge!

The Lighthouse Charity are inviting individuals or relay teams to participate in this year’s Belfast Marathon to raise awareness of, and funds for, their life-saving work. The charity is focused on the prevention of suicide by providing counselling, education and training to individuals, families who have been impacted by this or who may be ‘at risk’.
It also provides support for clergy and other pastoral staff who are seeking to understand more about the issue through the Flourish! Suicide Prevention Initiative.

Claire Hogarth, who is Fundraising Lead with the Lighthouse Charity, said: “The Belfast City Marathon takes place on Sunday, 30th April 2023. The 26.2 mile event begins at Stormont Estate and finishes at Ormeau Embankment. Why not enter a relay team, take part in the 8 mile run or for those of you who are up for the challenge, take on the full 26.2 miles and raise funds for local people who are struggling with their mental health.”
