Miles For Malawi in collaboration with Raise the Roof Higher Teen Choir based in Ballymena and E3 Initiative, are planning a 100km walk in 24 hours and with your help, hope to raise £24,000 to build a school in Mpingu, Malawi.
One of the organisers, Sarah McAnally, told us more about the event. “The girls of Raise The Roof have been fundraising for the school since 2018, however as you can imagine the COVID Pandemic has had a significant impact on the choirs’ ability to perform publicly and therefore fundraise for the school.
“Miles for Malawi is a 100km walk over 24hrs in the hope of raising £24,000. The walk will be non-stop, and will run from Friday 17th – Saturday 18th June around the Antrim Hills. By reaching this target of 24k, it will make a significant contribution to finishing the school (hopefully this year).”

Sarah added, “After almost 4 years of fundraising, we want to support the girls in Raise the Roof as much as we can to boost their already amazing fundraising efforts. To date they have raised over £32,000. With your help we would love to reach their target as soon as possible so that up to 650 children in the Mpingu area can have a safe and caring environment for their education. Currently some children walk up to 5km in their bare feet to get to school! Thanks to everyone for your support for Miles For Malawi.”
