Tickets are still available for ‘Saints and Scholars – The Future of Christianity in Ireland’ an event which will take place at Hillside Community Church in Ballymena on Friday 4th March 2022, starting at 8pm.
Taking part in what is certain to be a brilliant evening will be Professor Crawford Gribben, (Professor, School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics and History at Queen’s University in Belfast.)
Crawford Gribben’s The Rise and Fall of Christian Ireland is described by Gladys Ganiel writing for Slugger O’Toole as “A remarkable read… Gribben covers a vast amount of ground in a relatively concise text. His achievement is to provide much needed perspective on where Irish Christianity came from and where it may be headed.” According to former Taoiseach Enda Kenny, it is ‘a book that anybody interested in the evolution of the island of Ireland and all its people, should read and have on their bookshelf.’
This informal evening, hosted by Hillside Community Church, brings an opportunity to meet the author, who will give a short talk followed by discussion. Crawford will be joined by musicians Rebekah Durston (violin), Stephanie Devlin (voice) and Jonathan Rea (piano).
Hillside Community Church address is Doury Road, Ballymena BT43 6SA.
