Mulyata Children’s Mission have just moved their charity shop to a new location at 53-55 Station Road, Cullybackey, BT42 IBU.
Regular visitors to their original store on Cullybackey’s Main Street are more than welcome to check out the Mission’s new shop and volunteers there would love to meet some new faces too!
For anyone new to the work of Mulyata Children’s Mission, the charity is active in the Copperbelt Region of Zambia. Mulyata is a small village located between the towns of Kitwe and Mufilira in the north of the country.
A spokesperson for this vibrant charity told The Church Page:
“The reality is that many of those living within orphanages have one (or both) parents or other close relatives who struggle to afford to feed and clothe their children – and so in love, place their children into orphanages in the hope a better life for them. While many of these institutions do their best to provide a positive environment for the children, there is no doubt that the best outcomes for these children will be if they can grow up with their families in their own community.”
“Our aim is simple … to share the love of the Lord Jesus Christ by providing assistance in the form of food, medicine, clothing and educational support to enable impoverished school children to thrive and achieve their potential, while living at home with those care most for them – their families.”
The new Mulyata Children’s Mission charity shop is open from Wednesday to Friday each week from 10.30am until 4.30pm. Good quality used furniture and clothing are all needed. Every penny raised in the store will go towards the organisation’s life-changing work in Africa.
The spokesperson went to say: “Thanks are due to our dedicated team of volunteers who have put in so much work to make the move possible. We are also very excited that our new furniture department will open in two weeks time. Call in and see us to grab yourself a bargain.”
