Ballymena-based Philippines Aid Project is currently seeking urgent donations for its next container of aid, which will leave later this month (August 2019). The charity seeks to provide direct support to missionaries and impoverished people in one of south-east Asia’s poorest countries.
Sandra Stark, who is one of the charity’s Directors, told us:
“We are particularly short of the following items for our August container. We urgently need colouring books and pencils, not to mention ordinary school jotters, pens and pencils.”
“Toiletries such as toothpaste, toothbrushes and face-clothes are also required in addition to vitamins for males and females of all ages. The latter are particularly important for helping to stave off malnutrition, which is a common problem in a nation where poverty is rife.”
Donations for the next container can be left at the Philippines Aid Project shop on Bridge Street, Ballymena by Friday, 9th August 2019.
Alternatively, you can bring them to Victory Praise Community Church in Pennybridge in time for their 11am or 6pm service.
If you can’t help with the August container, there will be other opportunities to donate as a container of aid generally goes out each month.
