Rev Luka Vandi, Managing Director of Africa Christian Textbooks (ACTS) will be speaking in High Kirk Presbyterian Church, Ballymena on Sunday evening 12th May 2019 at the 6:30pm service.
A spokeperson from High Kirk told us, “He will be preaching from God’s Word and sharing about the progress and significance of the Hausa Africa Bible Commentary. Rev Vandi will be passionately communicating the importance of having literature in the Hausa language for the advance of the gospel in northern Nigeria and beyond.”
A little bit about Africa Christian Textbooks – ACTS
ACTS provide Christian literature and Biblical resources that are affordable for Christians living in the context of poverty and persecution. ACTS is based in a suburb of Jos, Nigeria, close to several important theological institutions – (the Nigerian church is probably the third largest national evangelical church in the world.) Resources for theological education are limited in that part of the world and that’s where ACTS are providing valuable and relevant material such as textbooks, teaching materials and more. ACTS also imports and distributes a wide selection of quality international Christian books, and in cooperation with others, it has published over 80 titles contextualised for Africa.
Rev Luka Vandi is currently the Managing Director of ACTS. He has been involved with the organisation since his student days at the Theological College of Northern Nigeria. His aims are to see this Christian literature ministry grow and to see the church in Nigeria strengthened and better equipped.
