It’s an important milestone for Scripture Union as they celebrate a decade of the E3 Ballymena schools project. They will mark the milestone on Saturday 30th March 2019 at High Kirk Presbyterian Church, Ballymena with a special celebration service at 7:30pm.
On the night school choirs from Hazelbank PS and Groggan PS along with some post-primary pupils will be leading worship. There will also be opportunities to hear stories from pupils past and present as well as volunteers and teachers about the impact of schools ministry in the area.
The aims of the E3 project are:
To ENGAGE schools pupils with the opportunities and resources that may lead to encountering Jesus through His Word, praying that they can make an informed decision about the truth of God’s good news.
To EQUIP Christian teachers and pupils, giving them support and encouragement to facilitate growth in Christian maturity and to encourage them to be salt and light in their schools.
To EMPOWER Churches to actively pray, support and get involved in schools ministry.
Come along to celebrate the milestone for Scripture Union
– a decade of the E3 Ballymena schools project.
Celebration Service on Saturday 30th March 2019 at 7:30pm in High Kirk Presbyterian Church, Ballymena.
Rachel Sheppard the E3 Ballymena Schools worker says, “Whether you are a parent, a pupil, SU leader, supporter with a heart for children and young people or have been impacted by your time at school you are invited to come and celebrate with us as we thank God for the past ten years and look ahead to the future.
School and SU played an important part in my own journey with God and I’ve had the privilege over the last decade to be able to give back and invest in my own hometown. It has been so encouraging over the years to see and hear what God is doing whether its been working alongside a church team delivering lessons, talking to a prayer supporter or church leader about schools ministry, training a young person who is taking on leadership in their SU for the first time, supporting a teacher who wants to set up an SU in their school or exploring a Bible story in an assembly hall with hundreds of pupils. No two days are ever the same!
We’d love to see you there on the 30th and there will be plenty of birthday cake too, no birthday celebration would be complete without it!”
