Autumn 2018 prayer letter from Belfast City Mission workers, the McCaw family. Our friends Paul, Lorraine, Caleb and Cameron McCaw have sent us the latest news of their work at Mayo Street.
They write:
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7 v 14
We have heard this verse used many times recently. It reminds us that prayer is vital in our Christian walk and in the healing of the sin in this world!!! As a new winter’s work begins in Mayo Street, we would ask all our faithful supporters to pray for the work, so that those we come in contact with will hear God’s voice calling them to ask for forgiveness of sins, so that they will be healed!!!
Thank you for your prayers for us, as a family! We had lovely family holidays in July and August, which were greatly appreciated.
Summer Kids Club report.
In between times, we enjoyed a great week with our Summer Kids Club team. We had approximately 20 kids at Woodvale Park from 2.00pm-3.00pm each day. We also enjoyed games and a message from God’s word in the evening from 6.00pm – 7.30pm approximately.
40 kids gathered to have fun, learn from God’s word, make craft items, and eat biscuits!!! On the last evening, we had a Fundraising Event, when we invited all the parents to come along with the children to get free hot dogs and tea. They were then encouraged to spend lots of money at our various stalls! This was very well attended by everyone which was really encouraging! A BIG thank you goes to all our friends who came along to help us serve at Summer Kids Club. We could not have done it without them!
A new year’s work is now upon us!
Sunday School began on Sunday 9th September 2018 from 3.00pm – 3.45pm. Mums And Young Ones started on Tuesday 11th September 2018 from 10.30am – 12.00noon. Kids Club has also recommenced on Wednesday 12th September at 6.30pm for P1 – P4 and 7.30pm for P5 – P7. We look forward to another great year together.
Sunday Services continue as normal, with our Harvest Service being on Sunday 7th October at 6.00pm. Our guest speaker will be Pastor Joe Beggs and Nicole Backus our singer. If you haven’t made it to Mayo Street yet, why not come along and join us on this occasion. A warm welcome awaits you all at Mayo Street Hall!
Prayer Meeting and Bible Study also continues every Thursday from 7.00pm, where different organisations will share about their work, once a month.”
