Get ready for Spark Ballymena 2018
Spark is set to return to Ballymena for the another summer. Their latest community outreach will run from Saturday 28th July until Sunday 5th August 2018.
The week begins with a Training Evening at Wellington Presbyterian Church on Saturday 28th August at 7.30pm. The work will begin in earnest on Monday 30th with the first of five worship and teaching sessions at Wellington, beginning at 10am each morning.
After lunch, approximately 200 Spark volunteers will head out to their areas to undertake various afternoon and evening activities.
This year, you can expect to see ‘Sparkers’ in Ballee, Ballykeel, Broughshane, Dunclug, Doury Road, Fisherwick, Portglenone, Town Centre, Fisherwick and Tullygarley.
Each team will be hoping to show the love of Jesus practically in the community they are based. They will run kids’ clubs, gardening projects and prayer walks. Also litter-picks, fun days as well as visiting older people in residential homes and sheltered housing complexes.
The week will conclude on Sunday 5th August 2018 with a Service of Thanksgiving at 8.15pm. Here friends and family will get to hear all about what members of Spark have achieved through God’s grace throughout their time together.
Eagerly anticipating the week ahead, new Spark Co-Ordinator, Lisa Jackson told The Church Page:
“We are all very, very excited to see how God is going to use each one of our volunteers to bring glory to His name is each of the areas this year.
Our emphasis during summer Spark 2018 is also on equipping each of our young people to become effective disciples of Christ. Also to give them a grounding in Biblical faith which will stay with each person throughout Spark and for the rest of their lives.”
