Green Pastures charity skydive challenge to raise funds for Swaziland trip.
Three members of Green Pastures Church, Galgorm are seeking sponsorship for a skydive to raise funds for a planned expedition to Swaziland by the GP College class of 2017/18 in early summer.
Green Pastures charity skydive challenge is on 14th April 2018.
Those doing the skydive are Danielle Cairns, GP College Administrator and Lecturer in the New Testament. She will be joined by former student, Alwyn Parke and Stefan Peryagh, who is a member of the Xtreme Mission Team. They will undertake this terrifying but exciting challenge on Saturday 14th April 2018.
Every penny they generate from their brave exploits will go towards the annual trip made by the College trainees to the Southern African state. Each year, they work with Challenge Ministries on a variety of projects.
Explaining more, Danielle told The Church Page;
“The trip is from May 22nd – June 5th, 2018. The students will be working in schools, hospitals, women’s centres, men’s centres and building mud huts. Swaziland has been suffering from drought and a high HIV epidemic.”
Danielle also told us that for her, at least, the impeding skydive will be a leap into the unknown.
“I have never skydived before. I am excited but a bit nervous at the same time.”
