Ballymena Presbytery has issued a statement in support of all staff who work in the National Health Service and those who provide care in the community.
Due to be read to every congregation on Sunday morning, 11th February 2018, the letter, which was signed by the Clerk of Presbytery, Rev Joseph Andrews and the Moderator of Presbytery, Rev William Sinclair, reads as follows.
‘The Presbytery of Ballymena, which represents over 20,000 people of all ages in the greater Ballymena area, would like to thank all frontline NHS staff and those who provide care in the community for their dedication and professionalism as they seek to deliver safe and high quality medical care under the current immensely challenging working conditions. We are very aware of the unrelenting pressures and intense strain felt by all NHS staff which is causing widespread frustration and sadness, leading to mental and physical exhaustion for many.
As an expression of our pastoral concern, and as an encouragement, our ministers will continue to lead their congregations in praying for you at this very difficult time.
We send you all our warmest regards.
William Sinclair (Moderator)
Joseph Andrews (Clerk).’
