The McCaw family reflect on a busy summer with BCM. Ahoghill family, Paul, Lorraine, Caleb and Cameron McCaw have enjoyed another very busy period at Belfast City Mission’s Mayo Street Hall.
Find out more about what they got up to in the article below.
The family write:
“September is here again! Where did the summer go? I think that’s how everyone feels as we get older. Life is going past so quickly. Therefore, if we have Christ in our lives we need to honour and serve Him diligently. As CT Studd rightly puts it, only what’s done for Christ will last!
What a blessed summer we have had. At the beginning of June, we had our Mums And Young Ones trip to Carnfunnock. There we enjoyed a lovely time at the park, had a picnic and a train ride. At the end of June, we had our Senior Citizens trip to Arthur Cottage in Cullybackey. Then on to Broughshane for a short walk along the river and around a few shops. We then had a late lunch and an ice-cream in 3Sixteen Cafe in Portglenone before heading home. Everyone enjoyed their day out!
We had lovely family holidays in July and August, which were greatly appreciated. In between times, we enjoyed a great week with our Summer Kids Club team. We had approx 20 kids at Woodvale Park from 2.00pm-3.00pm each day. Here we enjoyed games and a message from God’s word. Then in the evening from 6.00pm – 7.30pm approx 30 kids gathered to have fun, learn from God’s word, make craft items, and eat biscuits!!! On the last evening, we invited the parents to come along and hear what the children got up to all week. This was very well attended by the parents which was really encouraging! A BIG thank you goes to all our friends who came along to help us serve and support us in our work in Mayo Street. We could not have done it without them!
As the McCaw family reflect on a busy summer with BCM, they also look forward to the new autumn & winter programme.

Kids Club recommences on Wednesday 13th September at 6.30pm for P1 – P4 and 7.30pm for P5 – P7. We look forward to another great year together.
