As Spark Ballymena 2017 draws to a close for another year, a special Service of Thanksgiving will be held at Wellington Presbyterian Church on Sunday evening, 30th July 2017 at 8:30pm.
Everyone who comes along to this will have the opportunity to find out how God is been moving during what is been one of the busiest and most productive summer outreaches in their ten-year history.
Well in excess of 200 young people have been active across Ballymena and beyond. Areas include Ballee, Ballykeel, Broughshane, Doury Road, Dunclug, Fisherwick, Kells, Portglenone, Ballymena town centre and Tullygarley.
Hugely successful kids’ clubs in areas such as the Desmense, Ballykeel and Fisherwick brought the gospel message to loads of children in a fun and relevant way.
Meanwhile, groups of gardeners were so inundated with requests for help that they worked right up to 9:00pm on several of the evenings.
The young and not so young Sparkers were prepared for their tasks each day with a time of worship at Wellington Presbyterian each morning. They were led by the Spark band and equipped by inspirational Biblical teaching from Alan Marsh and Spark co-founder, Rick Hill.
Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a hearty lunch in the Church Hall before heading off to their areas and daily activities.
As Spark Ballymena 2017 draws to a close, they look back at what has been a memorable week.
A Spark spokesperson told The Church Page:
“This was one of the most memorable and in terms of tasks completed, successful events. We were simply blown away by the commitment and dedication shown by each of our volunteers in the areas.
Whether they were gardening, running events for children, senior citizens or simply picking up litter, everyone gave 100%! They showed Jesus love in the best possible way to everyone they met.”
They went on to say:
“We give God all the praise and glory for allowing us to serve in His Kingdom this week. We also say a big thank you to all the people who provided lunches and evening meals for the teams in their areas.”
Of course, Spark is not quite over yet. Members of the Spark Ballee crew would love to see you at ‘Wildfire – An Evening Of Worship’. It will take place at Victory Praise Community Church on Friday 28th July 2017 at 7:30pm. Find Spark Ballee on Facebook here.
A fun-night with FREE face-painting, BBQ and inflatables will also be held on the same evening. The venue is close to the site of the former Army Barracks at the Demense. If the weather is wet, the event will move to First Ballymena Church Hall.
