Gifted Christian singer Rachael Doey launches her new album ‘Blessed’ at the Dunsilly Hotel, Antrim on Saturday, 4th February 2017 at 7.30pm.
Looking forward to the event, Rachael who is from County Antrim says. “This is my first album and is something I have wanted to do and prayed about for years. I feel very blessed and excited to be able to finally write these words. My prayer has always been that the focus will not be on me, but on the words and the message God wants you to hear through each track, and that you will be truly blessed by listening.”
“One of the greatest blessings with this album has been my producer James Strange. God blessed him with an absolutely stunning musical gift! James is outrageously talented and I can’t put into words how much I appreciate his encouragement, musical ability and dedication”, she smiles.
Although every track on this album is special, some are particularly precious to Rachael.
She told The Church Page. “I wrote “I will never leave you” shortly after I was diagnosed with MS. So many times in the Bible God promises these words e.g. Deut 31:8, Hebrews 13:5, 1Kings 8:57, Joshua1:5. During brain scans, tests and procedures these verses would run through my mind. When no one else could be with me physically I knew I was not alone. I knew God completely understood everything and was right there beside me. I found these words to be such a comfort that I started singing them to myself. Then I thought it may help or comfort other people if I wrote more verses and tried to turn it into a “proper song”. It is a very simple little song but for me it is very special, because the truth of it was such a comfort to me through a tough time, yet is just as real and comforting for me today.”
Rachael went on to say: “‘Jesus Lamb of God’ is important to me because I loved designing and arranging the music with James, which makes it one of my favourite tracks. However the most special thing to me about it is that the words are taken from John 1:29. “Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world”. I have accepted this truth for myself and my prayer is that you will too.”

Talking about another notable track, the proud mum added. “‘You are my ministry’ is particularly special because I had the absolute pleasure of recording it with Katie-Rose, our precious eight year old daughter. Katie-Rose is the eldest of our three children and our only girl. I am so thankful God blessed us with three healthy, beautiful children and I count it an honour to be their mother. So when I first heard this song, the words meant a lot to me and made me appreciate our daughter even more. So I decided I would have it on the album and Katie-Rose loves to sing, so she was thrilled to be in the recording studio with her Mummy. We had so much fun and made great memories recording it. We both hope you really enjoy this song and that you are blessed by listening to it.”
Also taking part in the launch event will be James Strange and Testify. Tickets for the launch night, priced £5, can be purchased from Rachael’s website here. Copies of the album are also available from her website at a cost of £12.
