Gracehill Moravian Church will host a special service to mark the Week of Prayer For Christian Unity 2017. It is being held on Sunday 22nd January 2017 at 6:00pm.
Rev. Sarah Groves, the Minister at Gracehill Moravian Church explained. “The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2017 is a worldwide event and our congregation is hosting the service for Ballymena.”
“Rev. David Rock from Ballymena Methodist Church will be the speaker. Members from various other fellowships in the town also plan to take part in the service.”
Revealing an international link to the gathering, Sarah went on to say. “The material for this year’s service was prepared for worldwide use by Churches in Germany. It is based around 2 Corinthians 5 verses 14 – 20. The text of 2 Corinthians announces that God has, in Christ, reconciled the world to Himself.”
“The love of Christ compels us to be ambassadors of this reconciliation, which is enacted by the dismantling of walls. With the fall of the Berlin Wall, Germany experienced how a seemingly insurmountable wall could be brought down.”
She added: “The fall of this wall is a symbol of hope that, with the love of God, nothing is impossible.”
