Ballee Presbyterian 40th Anniversary Gospel Outreach services and events will soon be getting underway. Worshippers at Ballee Presbyterian Church are celebrating their congregation’s 40th Anniversary with a special week of Gospel Outreach for everyone in the church and community. This will begin on Saturday, 3rd September 2016 and run until Sunday 11th September 2016.
A number of Gospel Services will take place throughout the Outreach Week where the main speaker will be The Very Rev. Dr. Ian McNie, who served as Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland for 2015-16.
The events begins on Saturday 3rd September at 8.30am with a breakfast for men. This is an informal gathering in the Church Hall. Music will be provided by Dean Davidson and the guest speaker will be The Rev. Albert Baxter.
On Sunday 4th The Rev. Joseph Andrews will conduct the services at 11.30am and 6.30pm.
Monday 5th will be an evening to get to know the main speakers and to hear about plans for the week’s activities. ‘Reflections’ will begin at 7.30pm. Commenting on ‘Reflections’,the Rev. Joseph Andrews said: “Our main speaker The Very Rev. Dr. Ian McNie and his wife Anne will be interviewed about their work, faith and their hopes for the Gospel Outreach in Ballee. A light supper will be served. Everyone is welcome to come and meet out Church family in a friendly and informal atmosphere.”
While the men have their informal get together on Saturday, the ladies are looking forward to Wednesday 7th September when they will have a ‘Ladies Night.’ There will be music by ‘Andrea and Lois’, a message by Anne McNie and supper. All ladies are welcome.
On Tuesday 6th and Thursday 8th Dr. Ian McNie will be bringing a message from God’s word each evening at 7.30. On Tuesday Dr. McNie will speak on “The guy who went too far”. Special music will be provided by “Heavenly Sunshine” and one of Ballee’s Elders will speak about what being a follower of Jesus means to him. On Thursday evening Dr. McNie’s subject will be “The woman with no future.” Margaret McKeown, a member of the congregation, will be interviewed about her journey to faith in Jesus as Saviour and “The Brook Quartette” will provide special music.
Friday 9th will be a night for young people from year 8 upwards. ‘TFG Challenge’ will run from 7.30pm onwards. There will be challenges, food and a message from Jonathan Boyd. All young people will be welcome.
On Saturday 10th everyone is invited to a Family Fun Night, starting at 6.00pm. The Rev. Joseph Andrews said, “There will be something for everyone. Food and fun. If you would like to form a team of 4 for a quiz you will be very welcome. If you just want to come along and be part of it all we will be delighted to see you. During the evening we will be hearing ‘A Testimony of a Refugee’ when we will be privileged to have with us a person whose coming to faith in Jesus as Saviour placed their life in such danger that they had to leave their homeland. A separate programme will run alongside for young children, so this is very much an event for all the family.”
Ballee Presbyterian 40th Anniversary Gospel Outreach concludes on Sunday 11th September. At 11.30am Dr. McNie will speak on ‘Religious or Christian’ and Karyn Logan and Diane Reynolds will provide special music. At the 6.30pm Service Dr. McNie will bring the week of Gospel outreach to a close as he speaks on ‘The supreme sacrifice’. David McConaghie, a young man from the Church choir, will sing at the service.
The congregation have been busy making preparations for all the services and events planned for Ballee Presbyterian 40th Anniversary Gospel Outreach week. Their minister invites you to come along and join them as celebrate 40 years of ministry in the Ballee area.

Between the 3rd and 11th September it will be our privilege to share with you the message about Jesus who said of himself ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
