New Horizon 2016 will soon be getting underway at the Ulster University campus in Coleraine with the theme The Jesus Way. Running from 6th – 12th August here’s how they describe the event in their mission statement. “New Horizon exists to be used by God, through the power of His Spirit to inspire a selfless surrender to His Son, a radical obedience to His Word, an enduring passion for His Kingdom and an unconditional love for His world.”
We spoke to the organisers who sent the following release –
New Horizon is a week of refreshment, challenge, inspiration and encouragement for all the family. With vibrant worship, morning Bible teaching, topical seminars/workshops, evening celebrations and high-energy youth & children’s programmes there’s something for all ages.
It has been taking place for 28 years at the Ulster University at Coleraine. The dates for New Horizon 2016 are 6th – 12th August. Scot McKnight, Gavin Calver & Trevor Morrow as main stage speakers and will be speaking on The Jesus Way – What did Jesus say about the kingdom of God, the lost, and the church?
- Scot McKnight is a recognised authority on the New Testament, early Christianity, and the historical Jesus. Scot will be speaking at the opening celebration at 7:30pm on Saturday 6th August and will be bringing the Bible Teaching Monday 8th – Friday 12th August at 10am.
- Gavin Calver is the Director of Mission at the Evangelical Alliance. He will be sharing at the Evening Celebrations at 7:30pm on Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday.
- Trevor Morrow, who is no stranger to New Horizon, is one of Ireland’s most gifted Bible teachers and communicators. He will be speaking at the Evening Celebration on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
New Irish Arts and Ryan Griffith will be leading the praise at the Evening Celebrations.
New Horizon 2016 will run from 6th – 12th August. As well as the meetings in the main tent there are many seminars and workshops taking place around the campus.
There are over 50 seminars & workshops taking place at 11:45am & 2pm Monday – Friday. No tickets or registration is required for the adult programmes.
The children/youth programme takes place Mon-Fri from 9:45am-1pm for 0-18 year olds and 9-16 year olds from 7pm-9:30pm at various locations around the University campus. Registration for the children/youth programme is available 6:30pm on Saturday/Sunday night.
