An Alpha Course is the place to go if you’re curious about Christ and you’ve got questions about Christianity!
Ballee Community Centre, Ballymena will be the venue for an Alpha Course that’s being organized by members of Victory Praise Community Church. It will begin on Wednesday 9th March 2016 at 7.30pm and they would love to see you there if you have questions needing answered.
An Alpha course is an exploration for the basics of Christianity.
Each session will begin by offering participants something nice to eat and drink. Subsequently, there will be a DVD presentation lasting 30 minutes every week. This will focus on a different topic every time.
The films are presented by respected Bible teacher, Nicky Gumbel and will look at subjects such as –
- Is their more to life than this?
- Who is Jesus? (Is there any evidence that he lived?)
- Why did Jesus die?
- How can I have faith?
- Why and how do I pray?
Afterwards, there will be the opportunity to ask questions and discuss what you have watched, although some people may just prefer to listen and that is fine.
Talking about the course, a spokesperson for VPC said: “We are running the course because we know that people have a lot of questions about the Christian faith but sometimes struggle to find a place where they can have these answered”, they added.
“It is also a forum though which new Christians can learn more about their faith and again it is a safe environment; being a recent convert you might not feel confident enough to pray out loud, sing or do any of the things associated with Church.
However, you can come to Alpha, you can listen, learn and share a bit if you want to but you don’t have to. It’s creating that safe space where you can learn and develop”, stated the spokesperson.
