Many Christians from various churches in Ballymena will once again be getting involved in Christmas Spark and taking the Christmas message in a practical way to communities in the local area. Christmas Spark Ballymena will run on Friday 12th & Friday 19th from 7.30pm – 9.30pm & Saturday 20th December from 10am – 4.30pm. Their aim is to “reach out to the people of Ballymena with the message of JOY and HOPE that can be found in Jesus this Christmas.”
WHAT’S PLANNED? The Christmas Spark leadership have several events planned for the Ballymena area for the 3 days including carol singing, offering to gift wrap presents for people, giving out free gifts, conducting services in nursing homes, other practical projects and praying with people.
HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED? If you want to be part of Christmas Spark Ballymena this year you can sign up to become a volunteer on their website by clicking here. Applicants need to be Year 10 or above. You can also get links to the sign-up forms & keep up to date by following them on Twitter here and on Facebook here.
You can pray for the event and those involved, both the volunteers and all the people they meet over the 3 days. Some specific prayer points they have asked you to pray for are –
- Give thanks for the volunteers who have signed up already.
- Pray that we will be a blessing to all we come into contact with and that God will use us to point people to Jesus Christ and share the hope and joy only He can offer
- Please pray for the people leading our team devotions. Pray that God will speak powerfully through them to equip and empower the volunteers for all that He wants to do in their lives.
- Please pray that lives would be changed through the power of the Holy Spirit
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1 v 14
