Prayer Time | October 2014

So it’s the beginning of another month. Autumn has well and truly arrived and with it comes very full church calendars. Yet again we have so much to be thankful for as God continues to bless us in so many ways.

Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5 v 16 – 18

Some points for prayer this month include: –

Prayers of Blessing for Ballymena and the surrounding area will be held in First Ballymena Presbyterian Church Minor Hall on Friday 3rd October at lunchtime (12.45 – 1.30pm.) This will be the first time it has been held here & you are invited to come along and be part of this united prayer time as prayer is offered up, asking God to bless the Ballymena area and the communities who live there. The focus will be to pray for the transformation which Jesus brings to us as individuals and churches. This meeting will be jointly led by members of First Ballymena congregation and Ballymena House of Prayer.

The Coleraine area is also seeing God at work in a mighty way and so we ask you to pray in particular for and with the guys at Causeway Coast Vineyard who are involved with us here at the Church Page as they keep on sharing the good news to the people there. Here’s their specific prayer points:

Pray for –

  • Workers for Harvest – Ask the Lord to send out workers (Matt 9:37-38)
  • Favour Upon Us – Ask the Lord to be gracious and Bless us (Psalm 67:1,6-7)
  • New Believers – Ask the Lord that they would be rooted and established in love (Eph 3:16-19)
  • CCV Leaders – Ask the Lord for wisdom for our leaders (James 1:5)

This month sees a series of talks dealing with several mental health issues being taken by Christian psychiatrist Dr Steve Critchlow. These talks are being held in Montgomerys Restaurant, Ballymoney Rd, Ballymena. Full details of topics, dates etc can be found here. Please pray with us that God would give Steve the words which will encourage and help those who need it. Also that God will be working in the hearts and minds of those who will attend these meetings so that we will see people helped from both psychiatric and spiritual perspectives.

Please feel free to share these prayer points with your church family.
