Operation Christmas Child (Shoebox Appeal) is an amazing children’s project which impacts the lives of children across 130 countries. It provides an opportunity to not only bless children with a very tangible gift of love, but also creates an opportunity for the local churches overseas, to invite children to learn more about God’s love as they take part in a 12 lesson discipleship programme for children, with their local church.
Here in Northern Ireland we are very blessed to have almost 400 volunteers across the province who participate in Operation Christmas Child across 14 teams. They collect the gift-filled shoe boxes and take them to 12 different warehouses in preparation for export. However, without a co-ordinator(s) to oversee this project in each of the warehouses, we would be unable to make this happen.
We currently require the support of 1 or 2 logistics co-ordinators in the Ballymena area from 28th October to 21st November. This is a position which could be ‘job shared’ between two people. If you feel this is something you could do, or know of someone this may be of interest to, and would like to be part of sharing the hope of Jesus Christ with children across the globe, then please contact Linda Thompson at linda.thompson@samaritans-purse.org.uk for further information.
Please stand with us as we pray, believing that God would bless Operation Christmas Child with volunteers who would welcome this opportunity.
