Mission Possible Culture Centre in Bogota
“We are delighted to say that the Mission Possible Culture Centre in Bogota is now opened. Praise God” These were the words of Mission Possible directors, Joe and Sadie, who have just come back from a trip to see the building for themselves.
Portglenone based Mission Possible has been working with the street children of Bogota, Colombia for many years. They already have two very successful children’s residential homes in operation. One for girls and one for boys. They have provided food, shelter and love to many impoverished children who have come from a horrendous life of abuse, lack of care and have lived on the streets.
But for the last few years Mission Possible has been fundraising and preparing to build the Culture Centre in an area called Juan Rey, a suburb of Bogota. The reason? This is an area of 800,000 people who are living in shacks and where the people are in desperate need, both physically and spiritually.
Despite several setbacks in the building process in what Joe describes as “the most difficult time in the life of Mission Possible” the building is now complete. “We are delighted to tell you that during our recent visit to Bogota at the end of January 2018, we had the pleasure of finally opening this building for God’s honour and glory.”
The Mission Possible Culture Centre in Bogota will provide food and love to many in the Juan Rey district.
The Culture Centre has 8 rooms. These include a shower room. This is very significant as many of the children who use this room will never have had this facility before! Each day the Centre will also feed up to 200 children from the area it overlooks. The Centre will also be used to teach them and their families about God’s unconditional love.
Mission Possible are delighted to have reached this milestone, but it doesn’t stop there. There are daily running costs to keep projects like this operating smoothly. Do you feel led to support Mission Possible financially as they show God’s love in a very practical way to the street children of Bogota? If so, you can donate online here or post cheques made payable to Mission Possible to: PO Box 1063, Ballymena, BT42 9DS.
