Merry Christmas from Spud Bear Ministries. Spud Bears Ministries was founded by former Mission Aviation Fellowship worker Colin Davis. His aim was to give a cuddly bear to sick children in hospitals where MAF fly to across the world. Spud Bear Ministries also provide Animatronic (talking) bears which tell Bible stories and give health information.
In the following article, Colin updates us on his heart-warming ministry’s work. He writes
I hope you are keeping well and looking forward to celebrating Christmas. It is such a lovely time of year when people think of others somewhat more than themselves. It is such a privilege for me to be part of Spud Bear Ministries and to be able to see the boxes of Teddies on their way overseas, to young boys and girls. Many of them have never had a toy before, or heard the Good news of the birth of the Lord Jesus.
Throughout this year, with your help, teams of furry Spud Bear missionaries have been working in Africa, Latin America and China giving the greatest gift of all. The gift of the Gospel.
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
Romans 10 v 14
Although it is very difficult to know the exact amount, but if each of our 85 talking bears were listened to by 5 people each day, that would mean they will have shared the Gospel and the love of God with over 155 thousand children in 2016.
