Christmas 2016 at Wellington Presbyterian Church
Christmas 2016 at Wellington Presbyterian Church is certainly going to be a busy time. Right now its members are planning a packed programme of events. They aim to challenge, inspire and entertain the community they serve over the festive season.
This begins in earnest with the Christmas Switch On, which will take place on Saturday, 3rd December 2016 from 6:00pm. Not only will onlookers be treated to a special performance from the Children’s Choir, they will also hear from a local personality. Soup, sandwiches and a snack pack for your kids should keep them warm. A full programme is also being organised for the little ones.
The Children’s Choir will be singing again the following morning, Sunday 4th December 2016. This is part of Christmas Gift Day which gets underway at 11:00am. This will provide a delightful opportunity for children to bring a gift to the front of the Church. These will later be distributed by the Belfast City Mission.
Later in the month, Sunday 18th December 2016, everyone is welcome at Connections. Connections is a multi-media special which premieres at 11:00am.
‘The Christmas story is a life-changing experience. Using drama, singing and visual experiences, you will be able to see one of the greatest stories ever told in a fresh and thought-provoking way. No previous experience of Church is required!’
The much-loved annual Carol Service takes place on the same day, 18th, at 6.30pm. ‘It is good that some things never change. A traditional candle light service will take you down memory lane as you relive the best songs of the festive season. Why not take a break from the fever pitch of Christmas shopping and re-discover what is really important about the festive season.’
Christmas 2016 at Wellington Presbyterian Church. A packed programme of events concluding with a service to celebrate Jesus birth on Christmas morning.
Finally, there will be a chance to celebrate Jesus’ birth properly at the Christmas Morning Service on Sunday, 25th December 2016 at 10.30am. Everyone is invited to enjoy this fun-filled gathering. Planned for all ages, it will provide an excellent opportunity to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas before you sit down to your turkey and stuffing.
All the events listed will take place within the church building on Sourhill Road, Ballymena.
