Applications are now open for a new position of Associate for Mission and Discipleship at High Kirk Presbyterian Church, Thomas Street, Ballymena. This exciting new position will give someone the opportunity to serve God andwork among a thriving and vibrant congregation by helping to develop the mission and discipleship initiatives. Working alongside the minister, this post will include involvement in the teaching programme of the congregation.
High Kirk Presbyterian Church, 65 – 71 Thomas Street, Ballymena is close to the well known People’s Park and the Fairhill Shopping Centre. High Kirk Church runs regular discipleship programmes for it’s congregation and others wishing to attend. Also taking place at various times throughout the year is Café Church. It meets regularly for a series of Sunday morning meetings and is for those who feel the traditional approach to church feels too formal or irrelevant. Getting together in the Oasis Café in High Kirk, it is about ‘doing church’ in an informal and interactive way.
High Kirk Church is also very actively involved in mission work with teams going regularly from the church to serve both at home and abroad. Local mission is also exceptionally important to them, including the Doury Rd estate right on their doorstep. Here, the church have recently opened Hope House, a place where the local community can drop in for prayer, Bible study or just a chat over a cuppa. The church supports several missionaries and missionary organisations both at home and abroad.
