Mission Possible Event At Ballymena North
A special Mission Possible event at Ballymena North Recreation Centre, 120 Cushendall Rd, Ballymena is being planned for Friday 5th August 2016 at 7.30pm. This is your opportunity to hear first hand from Pastor Julio Cesar from Colombia. Pastor Julio is making this trip to Northern Ireland to share how he, with the support of Mission Possible, is rescuing many street children in Bogota from a life of fear and abuse.
Mission Possible have been fundraising for over 10 years now to help alleviate suffering and abuse for many young people in Colombia’s capital city, Bogota. The fundraising has allowed them to now fund 3 projects in the city.
Hope House 1 – this is a residential home for boys. Providing food and education and with a Christian ethos this home gives the boys who live there a fresh start in life. Several have come to faith in Christ and are keen to learn and grow in their faith.
Juan Rey Cultural Centre – a multi-function building which is used as a feeding station for up to 85 children daily. Children here are also taught about the love of God and some have already put their trust in Him. Mission Possible have recently funded the construction of a new Cultural Centre in Juan Rey. It is hoped to provide up to 300 children with a meal every day in this new centre. This will also be used as a Church at weekends – the first evangelical church in this area of over 800,000 people!
Hope House 2 – the newest project, only opened in April 2016. Hope House 2 offers a safe haven for young girls who would otherwise live their lives on the streets. Again just like Hope House for boys, this will be their home where they will receive much needed shelter, love, care and education as well as being told about Jesus and His love for them.
The Mission Possible event at Ballymena North will be presented by Joe & Sadie Law, music by James Strange and chaired by Pastor Drew Hamill. There will be light refreshments provided.
You are invited to come along and hear Pastor Julio Cesar from Colombia at the Mission Possible event at Ballymena North Recreation Centre on Friday 5th August at 7.30pm.
The Church Page spoke to Joe and Sadie who said, “We are very excited to have our good friend, Pastor Julio, travelling all the way to Ballymena to have an opportunity to tell our supporters here of the work he is doing in Bogota and how it has impacted on the lives of little children in that poverty stricken and evil city. He has an amazing story to tell and we would encourage those who already support our work, those who have maybe been thinking about it and those who as yet haven’t heard of us, to come along to this meeting to hear of life changing stories which are happening in Colombia. Everyone will be made very welcome. A retiring offering to Mission Possible will be lifted on the night, all of which will go to fund the projects.”
