Faith and Culture Tours are holding an Information Evening about a trip to ‘Israel – Land of The Bible’ on Wednesday 22nd February 2023 at 7pm in Glenvarna Christian Centre, Newtownabbey.
The trip itself will take place from Monday 1st July until Wednesday 10th July 2024.
Organisers are keen to stress some of the tour’s main highlights. Their spokesperson said: “We cross the Sea of Galilee by boat and stop in the middle of the lake for a service. Then on to visit Gennesaret to see ‘the Jesus boat,’ after which we visit the River Jordan, Capernaum, the Mount of Beatitudes and Tabgha where Christ fed five thousand people.”
“After visiting Nazareth, we go to Tiberias via Gath Hepher the former home of Jonah, we stop at Cana of Galilee, site of the first miracle.”
“The next day, we head for Mount Carmel where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal. Following this we drive to Caesarea the headquarters of Roman power in Christ’s time. It was here that Paul appealed to King Agrippa and drew forth the amazing words ‘Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.’ (Acts 26:28) Then it’s on to Joppa and the village of Emmaus with the viewpoint at Radar Hill.”
Other highlights of the trip include the chance to ascend and descend by cable car before going to Ein Gedi, where David hid from Saul.
Following a visit to the Mount of Olives. you will walk down the Palm Sunday Road and visit the Garden of Gethsemane.
The Faith and Culture Tours spokesperson when on to say that: “On our final day we go walking in the Old City. We will enter the city via the Zion Gate and climb the Temple Mount. We witness the worshippers at the Western Wall, visit the Pool of Bethesda, walk the Via Dolorosa see the Antonia Fortress, Pilates Palace, Hal of Flagellation, exit the city by the Damascus Gate and visit Calvary and the Garden Tomb. What a place to finish. ‘ HE IS NOT HERE BUT IS RISEN.’ ( Luke 24:6 )
