A Coffee Morning for United Christian Broadcasters (UCB) is taking place at Houston’s Mill in Broughshane from 10.00am – 12 noon on Saturday 7th November 2015. All proceeds from the coffee morning and cake sale will go to help the work UCB are involved in – they’re the organisation responsible for Word for Today & Word 4U 2Day Bible notes, Prayerline as well as Christian radio & TV stations.

We asked Ruth Houston, the local lady organising the event, why she felt led to do this. “The biggest reason for wanting to hold an event to help raise funds for the work UCB do, is that they have been such an encouragement, not only to myself but also family and friends, through their Bible reading notes – Word for Today – also Prayerline and I love to be able to listen to a great selection of Christian music and inspirational talks through their radio stations. I wanted to give something back and had got involved in a coffee morning and cake sale event which was run in Carrickfergus last year. I was set the challenge of organising a similar event around the Ballymena area. I talked with my friends at our church fellowship who were really keen to help me and here we are! – Houston’s Mill in Broughshane is the venue and we’re really looking forward to seeing lots of people come along for coffee and cake while at the same time supporting the work of a great Christian organisation who are taking God’s Word to many, many people through TV & Radio, the internet and printed material.”
