Let’s Talk About Mental Health – with Dr Andrew Collins at Forged Men’s Ministry, High Kirk Church, Thomas Street, Ballymena. All men from Ballymena and the surrounding area are welcome to come and hear what Andrew has to share on Wednesday, 24 April 2024 from 8pm.

Andrew, a former consultant psychiatrist in Antrim and part-time Biblical counsellor, is well-known in Ballymena circles. Why not come along; yes we know it’s a topic of conversation that we, as men, seem to find so difficult to talk about but it’s so important we know how to look after our own mental health and that of others.

Explaining more, Rowan Zeelie, who is Associate for Discipleship at High Kirk told The Church Page: “In September 2023, High Kirk Presbyterian, Ballymena launched a new men’s ministry called Forged. The name was inspired by the words of Proverbs 27:17, ‘as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.’ The ministry kicked off with a Curry Night and an opportunity for the men of High Kirk, from mid-teens upwards, to share what activities, events and topics they would like to see appear throughout the year on the church calendar. The topic that came up far more than any other was mental health: how to look after our own, and how to come alongside someone who is struggling with theirs.”

There will be tea and coffee served in the café area after the talk.
