Lylehill Christians support Carnmoney Foodbank
The congregation of Lylehill Presbyterian Church have once again been helping to make a life-changing difference to individuals and families who may otherwise go hungry during this very cold spell, through their contributions to the nearby Foodbank.
A Church spokesperson told The Church Page:
“Members of the Lylehill congregation have as always pulled out the stops donating items to the Carnmoney Foodbank for families at Christmas; truly showing kindness and compassion for those less fortunate than ourselves. Matthew 25 vs 40 ‘ says ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
“The photos show the huge donation from Lylehill and the volunteers from the foodbank. Most families who benefit are not working or on benefits for various reasons. Usually around 40 families a week are fed, last week there were 51 families fed, families are usually referred for food parcels through community referrals.
“Thanks are due to Karen as always for dropping all the food items at the foodbank on our behalf.”
