Generous Lylehill Christians support local Food Bank
Generous members of Lylehill Presbyterian Church translated their faith into action by making significant donations to the local Food Bank at their annual Harvest Service.
Harvest is a time to give thanks for God’s generous provision to us. As a mark of appreciation for His goodness towards them, Christ’s followers at the fellowship decided to swap the usual autumn decorations for grocery gifts which will benefit others.
Tinned foods, long-life milk, cereals and other life sustaining foods were given in considerable qualities to aleiviate hunger for families and individuals who are struggling to feed themselves or their families.
Speaking just after the service, a Lylehill spokesperson told the Church Page:
“What a fantastic Harvest Sunday Service we had today, we were reminded from Genesis of the abundant and lean years from Pharoah’s dreams, interpreted by Joseph whilst in captivity in Egypt. We surely had an abundance of items presented to our Church for the Food Bank today – huge thanks to our Congregation members for their fantastic donations! We also put up a few floral decorations.”
