Charities organise Auto Show at Ballee Playing Fields, Ballymena // Sat 13 May 2023

Two local charities, Compassion Group Network and Street Meets NI, have come together organise an Auto Show and Fun Day aimed at the whole community.  This will take place on Saturday 13th May 2023 at Ballee Playing Fields, Ballymena.  (Open at 9am for stallholders and 10am for the public.)

A press release from the organisers said: ‘This is a first time joint public platform and social event between ‘Compassion Group Network’ a NI registered charity with its head office in Ballymena and ‘Street Meets NI’, a province wide group of vehicle owners who use the meet ups as a social inclusion and community development tool to bring people across our community together in a spirit of unity no matter of their faith, creed, skin colour, ethnicity or any other label that would divide us.

The upcoming event “Street Meet NI meets Compassion’, is not just an event to promote mental health awareness in our community and other issues, but is an event to unite the wider community, voluntary sector and statutory agencies to assist each other in areas of funding, skills, joint ventures, awareness, training and to seek communalities that bring our divided communities together such as deeper inclusion between voluntary sector and statutory agencies, greater community representation, government policy and harnessing development strategies to improve much needed services to increase life chances for those in the poverty cycle and the generations to come.

We would like to invite all public elected representatives, public figures, statutory agency representatives, the press and especially the public to this event to show unity and solidarity for better community, services and inspiring solutions to work together for the common good.
