Rev Brian Smyth, Minister of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Ahoghill, is the new Moderator of the Presbytery of Ballymena.
The former CEF worker, who also served with the Belfast City Mission, succeeds Rev Noel Mulholland from Cuningham Memorial Presbyterian Church, Cullybackey, in the role.
Married to Pamela, Brian has occupied the pulpit at Trinity, Ahoghill for the last nine years. He took up the wider Presbytery role on Tuesday 1st March 2022 and will remain in the post for the next twelve months.
Commenting on his appointment, Brian told The Church Page:
“I am looking forward to serving the Lord in this role for the next year and no doubt I will have the opportunity to be involved in some of the Congregations within the Ballymena Presbytery. I would value the prayers of God’s people throughout the next twelve months and that in all I do, God would be glorified.”
