A new publication, ‘The Christmas Story – Reflections for Advent’ is a set of 25 devotionals covering the 25 days of December in the run up to Christmas Day. The book was written by two members of High Kirk Presbyterian church in Ballymena – Keith McIlroy and Andrew Dickson.
Each day the reader receives a biblical nugget to chew on, alongside observations on life and Christmas tradition. The reflections follow the broad flow of Scripture to tell the Christmas story against the bigger picture of God’s work in the world. Each reflection is followed by a poem which will give the reader a different perspective on the meaning of each passage.
‘The Christmas Story – Reflections for Advent’ started life last Christmas as a means of helping High Kirk congregation to focus on the central message of the season in the midst all the busyness and the looming prospect of another lockdown.
It is Keith and Andrew’s hope that these reflections can be of use to a wider audience and encourage others to slow down and take time to meditate upon the greatest story ever told.
