Rector urges Prayer and Reflection each evening
Rev Adrian Halligan, Rector of the Grouped Parishes of Craigs, Dunaghy and Killagan in Co Antrim has urged everyone to join him in a time of Prayer and Reflection at 7pm each evening in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Adrian said: “As a parishioner recently said to me ‘be careful and cautious but don’t worry or panic, and trust in God. I am asking each of you to join with me (in your own home) at 7pm every evening for 10 mins of prayer and reflection for all who are affected by COVID-19.”
A suggested prayer sent to clergy from Archbishop Michael Jackson, Dublin & Glendalough can be found below:
A Prayer in the Time of the Coronavirus
Almighty and All–loving God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we pray to you through Christ the Healer for those who suffer from the Coronavirus Covid–19 in Ireland and across the world.
We pray too for all who reach out to those who mourn the loss of each and every person who has died as a result of contracting the disease. Give wisdom to policymakers, skill to healthcare professionals and researchers, comfort to everyone in distress and a sense of calm to us all in these days of uncertainty and distress.
This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord who showed compassion to the outcast, acceptance to the rejected and love to those to whom no love was shown. Amen.
