Chinese Meal at The Go-Sun, Ballymena for Mulyata Children’s Mission

Members of the Mulyata Children’s Mission have organised a fundraising Chinese Meal at the Go-Sun Restaurant on Tuesday 22nd October 2019 at 7:45pm. The cost of the meal is £22 per person.
Proceeds from the evening will go towards of the roofing project on their feeding station in Mulyata, Zambia.
The founder members of Mulyata Children’s Mission have had many years experience working in Africa with orphanage projects, however during a visit to Zambia during 2017, they felt challenged to take a new approach, reach beyond the confines of the orphanage and reach into the community to help those living in poverty.
They told The Church Page: “The reality is that many of those living within orphanages have one (or both) parents or other close relatives who struggle to afford to feed and clothe their children – and so in love place their children into orphanages in the hope a better life for them. While many of these institutions do their best to provide a positive environment for the children, there is no doubt that the best outcomes for these children will be if they can grow up with their families in their own community.
Our aim simple … to share the love of the Lord Jesus Christ by providing assistance in the form of food, medicine, clothing and educational support to enable impoverished school children to thrive and achieve their potential, while living at home with those care most for them – their families.”
They went on to say: “All proceeds from our ‘New Life’ charity shop at 42 Main Street in Cullybackey will also go to support this vital work. The shop is staffed entirely by our team of friendly volunteers – why not drop in for a look around – or a chat – we’d be glad to see you! We stock a wide range clothes, household goods, furniture and bric-a-brac.”
