Keswick at Portstewart 2019 is due to get underway soon!
The annual Keswick at Portstewart Convention will take place at Convention Avenue, Portstewart from Saturday 6th July until Friday 12th July 2019.
Each day will begin with Morning Bible Teaching from 11am – this year’s speaker will be Jonty Rhodes.
Jonty is the founding pastor of Christ Church Central, Leeds, a congregation of the International Presbyterian Church which was planted in 2017. He is married to Georgina and they have four girls.
Daily Evening Celebrations, which feature high quality praise music and outstanding teaching, will get underway at 7.30pm.
Speaking on Saturday and Sunday Evening will be Jonty Allcock. Jonty is Pastor of the Globe Church, London which was planted in 2015. Married to Linda they have 3 boys. Jonty is passionate about people meeting Jesus through the pages of the Bible and then seeing them training, equipped and sent out for a lifetime of serving Jesus.
During the week, listeners will be blessed by the ministry of Malcolm Duncan. After spending thirty years away from Northern Ireland, where he grew up, Malcolm returned in 2018 to take up the role of Senior Pastor in Dundonald Elim Church. Married to Debbie and a father of four, Malcolm is passionate about seeing local churches engage with their wider communities.
Ian Hannah will serve once again as praise leader. He is a very experienced musician, songwriter, and leader. Ian has led worship at many Christian conferences and conventions and first led at Keswick at Portstewart in 2017.
As always, there is provision for children and young people, meaning that the whole family can enjoy Keswick at Portstewart.
A spokesperson told The Church Page; “We don’t run a creche facility whereby our own team look after small children. However, we do provide parental creche facilities adjacent to the main tent where parents can look after their small children while benefiting from the programme via video relay.
Each year we are privileged to partner with Portstewart CSSM who provide an action-packed programme for children and young people. You can register your children and young people at our information desk during the opening weekend of Keswick.”
Looking ahead to what’s on offer for young adults, the spokesperson added: “join us in the Hub Cafe on Sunday 7th July at 9.30pm (after the main Evening Celebration) for free coffee, chat, some live accoustic music, and a Q&A with Jonty Allcock, our speaker for the opening weekend.”
They went on to reveal that prayer is an important part of Keswick at Portstewart, with daily prayer meetings every morning from 9.45am-10.30am and Prayer Ministry available after each Evening Celebration.
“Join with us each morning in the Prayer Tent as we pray not only for the ministry of the Convention but for the Church, our society, our world, and a move of God’s Spirit throughout our land. These prayer gatherings are open to everyone.”
“We have a team of trained and trusted people who are available in the Prayer Tent at the end of each of our Evening Celebrations to pray with you. Perhaps you would like someone to pray with you in response to what God has been saying, or perhaps there’s some other concern for which you would value prayer? Make your way to the Prayer Tent at the close of the Evening Celebration.”, they added.
This year, Keswick at Portstewart will feature a seminar for anyone in leadership, on the theme of Exploring Your Leadership Journey, with Alan Wilson.
Having pastored churches in Switzerland and Northern Ireland, Alan now teaches in Belfast Bible College, the Irish Baptist College, and the Irish Bible Institute in Dublin and is involved in itinerant church preaching. He is the host of ’The Leadership Journey’, a podcast for leaders that explores the ups and downs of leadership.
