Joy Boyd Releases Her Second CD ‘Light Of That City’
Gospel singer, Joy Boyd releases her second CD ‘Light of that City’.
The release takes place on Saturday 3rd March 2018 at 7:00pm. The venue is Wellington Presbyterian Church Hall, Sourhill Road, Ballymena.
This is Joy’s second album. Her first solo album ‘Made By Mercy’ was recorded almost eight years ago and we have eagerly awaited this new CD.
Joy has been singing solo for about 14 years. She also helped out in the Calvary Quartet for a short time. She went on to sing with the trio Justified for six wonderful years, with her brother James and good friend Emma Jane Condy. Since then Joy has been continuing her solo work taking the message of the gospel in song across the country.
A County Antrim girl, Joy comes from a gospel singing family. Three of her brothers are involved in gospel music and she feels blessed to have this gospel music family around her. She is now seeing the mantel passed on to her own family! Her daughters are also becoming involved in sharing the gospel message through song.
Joy has often said she has a wonderful family network and couldn’t do what she does without the amazing love and support of her husband David. He often travels with her and does her sound.
In recording this album, Joy has turned once again to her talented brother James Strange of CRM Music who produced and arranged all the tracks. James has said
“Joy has a wonderful heart for the ministry of gospel music and sharing both her faith and the message of the cross of the Lord Jesus. It has been an honour once again working with Joy on this album.
Joy has chosen songs that will touch and uplift your heart as a Christian and encourage you in your walk with God. Her title track ‘Light of that City’ brings our focus to the coming of Christ and the hope of every Christian. Its always about the message and sharing the love of Christ to others and the songs on this album reflect this.”
