The Big House Commissioning Service | Project Director
The Big House commissioning service for their new Project Director, Mark Kernohan was held recently in Belfast.
There were no strangers at the Service of Commissioning for Mark, as he takes up his role as Project Director for The Big House, only friends who hadn’t met yet!
On Saturday 19th March at the Skainos Centre in Belfast, a group of Mark’s friends and family gathered along with staff, volunteers, supporters and board members of The Big House, all united in welcoming Mark into The Big House family.
They spent time worshiping God together and Dr Angela Minion, founder and previous Project Director of The Big House, shared the journey to date as well as revisiting God’s vision for The Big House.
The Big House exists to help young people to know God’s love as they encounter Jesus and are cared for by the church, especially when they are dealing with difficult issues or circumstances. She shared of God’s faithfulness and guidance over the last number of years and of the lives of young people he has transformed. You can read more about the work of The Big House in an article we posted earlier this year here. You’ll also find details of the Beautiful 2016 event – a weekend for girls – which The Big House are running from 8th – 10th April in Armagh.
It was exciting to see Mark’s enthusiasm to be commissioned into this role as Project Director. He turned to Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish…” He shared the vision God has placed in him to help others, how God has directed his path and to pursue what God has in store for The Big House. Rev Dr David Rock shared about Elijah and Elisha and reflected the heart of, and this new season for, The Big House.
You can follow the work of The Big House on their website here and on Facebook here. We wish Mark God’s blessing as he takes on the exciting role of Project Director.
