Ballyloughan is a member of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. It’s easy to find, situated on the Doury Road just across the road from the entrance into Dunclug schools and beside the entrance to Murob Park.
The church began in 1973 to cater for the spiritual needs of the rapidly increasing population in this northern part of Ballymena due to the large housing developments which were being constructed at that time. The congregation has grown over the years and it’s aim remains the same – to ‘see people become whole-hearted followers of Jesus Christ’.
Here’s some of the community outreach activities and programmes we offer at Ballyloughan Church :
- Celebrate Recovery
On every Tuesday from 10am – 12 noon, Celebrate Recovery is a weekly support group designed to offer new hope, a fresh start, ongoing support and encouragement for anyone struggling with hurts, hang-ups and habits. - Café
Our café is open to everyone, so please pop in for a cuppa and a chat and while you’re here enjoy a game of table tennis or pool. The café is open 2 days per week, Wednesdays 10am – 12 noon and Fridays 11.30 – 1.30. Feel free to call in any time you’re passing the church.
- Parents & Toddlers
Meeting every Monday and starting at 10am, Ballyloughan Parents & Toddlers is a social group for parents and their children which gives everyone involved a chance to interact with each other. Great fun for the children and a chance for the parents and carers to have a chat about the issues of the day. - Teen Scene
Teen Scene happens every Thursday night from 7.30pm – 9.00pm at Ballyloughan Church. It’s a youth club for teenagers in the community from Year 8 up to Upper 6th students. There’s different activities going on like sports, cooking and crafts, so go along for a bit of fun and learn something new when you’re there.
